Bhubaneswar: The Corporate Communication and Brand Management (CCBM) Dept. of Indian Institute of Mass Communication – Dhenkanal (IIMC Dhenkanal) organised its first PR Conclave on the theme – PR in the Age of AI, on 27th March 2026. Leaders of PRSI Bhubaneswar Chapter shared the stage as distinguished speakers and shared their thoughts with real world examples from their professional journey.
The first session of the conclave focussed on Communicating Sustainability and Challenges of Green PR. PRSI Bhubaneswar Chapter Secretary Krushna Chandra Mahapatra and Joint Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sethi walked the students through sustainability initiatives and communication in their organisations. This was followed by an interactive freewheeling Q&A chat with the students and faculty members of IIMC Dhenkanal. While both the speakers shared their perspectives on PR in the age of AI, Sandeep Kumar Sethi touched upon ‘Strategic PR in Mining – Driving the Green Transformation Storytelling’, with practical examples of the initiatives at Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC). Similarly, Krushna Chandra Mahapatra spoke on ‘From Connectivity to Responsibility: Jio’s Sustainability Journey’ illucidating case studies and real world examples from his experience.
The second session witnessed PRSI Bhubaneswar Chapter Chairman Sudhi Ranjan Mishra and Vice-Chairman Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sahoo deliberating on the theme ‘Re-imagine Corporate Communication in the era of AI’. In his address Sudhi Ranjan Mishra threw light on Brand Management in the AI Era: Rewiring Organizational Culture through Storytelling. Similarly, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sahoo spoke on ‘Building Trust in Digital World: AI for Reputation Management & Crisis Preparedness’. Subhransu Sekhar Panda from the Corporate Communication team of Tata Steel also addressed the students on ‘Role of AI in Reshaping Internal and External Corporate Communication’. Professor (Dr.) Anand Pradhan, Regional Director of IIMC Dhenkanal welcomed and felicitated all the speakers. Interestingly, the entire conclave, starting from guest coordination, logistics and event management, branding and DIY creations like unique photo booth from scrap materials, were conceptualized and executed by the CCBM students of IIMC Dhenkanal.
